Meet all of our wonderful and hardworking staff! They are each trained to perfection and have a passion for working with your kids!
Laura has been the owner of The JumpSpot for 10 years, and has been coaching gymnastics for 30 YEARS!! She also has two twin sons, Drew and Mason (17) and two dogs at home! She is absolutely ADORED by kiddos of all ages — When asked what her favorite part of being with the JumpSpot is, she said “My favorite thing about my job is the connections that I build with the kids, as well as the friendships I build with the parents. I am challenged every day and that is important to me. I also love teaching my staff how to teach as well as pushing them to grow in their communication with the parents. I wear many hats at The Jump Spot: coach, manager, custodian, trainer, party planner, accountant, and creative director. It is a lot, but I love every minute of it.”
Susan has been teaching gymnastics for a total of 34 YEARS! Her gymnastics career started when she owned her own gym for about 8 years. Now, she’s been working at The Jump Spot for around 9 years!! But gymnastics isn’t the only thing she’s good at…During the day, she works full time as a Paraprofessional in Unit 5 Early Learning!!
Miss Julia is a teacher on our tots side of the gym, and has been teaching at The Jump Spot for 5 years. She is married and a mother to 4 kids! She did a lot of sports in high school and college and tells us “my favorite part of working at the Jump Spot is being with the kids. I love moving and stretching with them… it keeps me young!” Julia is so loved by all of the kiddos in her classes and is such a valuable person at The Jump Spot!
Mr. Drew & Mr. Michael
Michael and Drew are both currently seniors at Normal Community High School. Next year, Drew will be attending the University of Kansas. Michael also plans to attend Illinois State University, but is unsure of where yet. Outside of Jump Spot, Michael is a Sunday School teacher at Eastview Christian Church to 4th and 5th grade boys, and at school, Michael is also involved with Student Council and FCA. Outside of Jump Spot, Drew plays Varsity tennis at Normal Community. Drew and Michael also play basketball together at Game Time Gym. All of the kiddos that Drew and Michael teach just love them!!
Amy is a Senior at Illinois Wesleyan University, studying accounting, and is a member of the Kappa Delta sorority as well!! She has been working front desk at The Jump Spot for a little over a year, and absolutely LOVES her job!! If you ever need to register for a class, schedule a makeup, or plan a birthday party, Amy is your go-to! Next time you’re in, make sure to say hi to her!
Miss Emersyn is currently a sophomore at Normal Community High School. At school, she is on the dance team, as well as involved with the YoungLife club! She has been working at the Jump Spot for about 6 months now, and we are so lucky to have her! Her favorite part of working as the Jump Spot is seeing all the kids and forming friendships with each and every one of them.
Mason is currently a senior at University High School. He plans to attend college next year, but is unsure where. At school, he plays on the tennis team and is on National Honors Society. In his free time, he loves to hang out with his friends, play tennis, and babysit. He has been working at the JumpSpot for around a year, and absolutely LOVES his job. He says “my favorite part of working at The JumpSpot is all the different relationships I get to form and all the different kids I get to meet!”
Miss Emily graduated from ISU with a degree in geology, and is going back for her MBA. She has worked here since she was 15 years old! Miss Emily used to teach all of the tumbling classes, and still jumps in once in awhile to help out. Now you can find her at the desk if you ever need to register for a class or schedule a birthday party!
Sam is currently a Junior at Normal Community High School. He is on the soccer team and is involved in leadership club as well as Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Currently Sam teaches Mini-Fit, All Star Fit, and assists other coaches in many classes.
Emma is currently a Junior at Normal West. She is in cheer and student council. Emma has been taking class with Miss Laura for many years and finally reached the age to help coach. Currently she is assisting all tumbling coaches but also teaches Froglet 1, Froglet 2, and Frogs. Miss Emma is a very cheerful addition to our staff. We are lucky to have a student become a coach, because she understands the students point of view.
You can find Miss Tina behind the desk answering the phone and questions about the gym. She can help you with birthday parties, registering for classes and any other concerns you may have. She has worked with kids for many years: daycamp, nannied for a family of six, gold’s gym daycare, and birthday parties here at The Jump Spot. She is married and has one daughter (Brooklyn). If she is not behind the desk you may find her trying to stop her daughter from joining your class at The Jump Spot.

Emily and I are working together to make sure the gym is in top shape before and after every class. She will also be on hand to help any staff member or child that needs extra help as well as answering questions from parents. She will be in charge of overseeing the health and safety of the Drop and Go camps, as well as the Friday Fun Days.
